i. Can the COVID XIX vaccine cause my period to change?
The short story is that your menstrual cycle may change after the Covid IX vaccine but that is temporary.

ii. Why is there so much buzz about COVID and fertility?
There has been a lot of discussion about whether or not the COVID vaccines affect fertility. Vaccines can stress the body and trigger an immune response and this can have a short term impact on the menstrual cycle. The important thing is that there is no evidence that there are any long term effects. Of course soreness at the injection site, fever and headache can occur after the vaccine.

iii. Does an immune response impact my reproductive organs?
The immune system plays a role in ovulation and the preparedness and shedding of the endometrium. This cycle is determined by chemical messages and signals in the body.

iv. What can affect your cycle after getting the COVID XIX vaccine (or other vaccines)?
i. immune changes
ii. stress
iii. illness
iv. change in birth control or pregnancy
v. change in weight or exercise

v. Even though your menses may be temporarily affected after the COVID vaccine, it does not mean your fertility will be impacted. Pregnant women and lactating women can also safely receive the COVID vaccine.
